A Sacramento man reported that he was kidnapped and robbed early this morning in Woodland as he was heading home from work.
Woodland police received a call from the man about 2:20 a.m. He reported that, after leaving work about 2 a.m., he was driving on East Main Street. When he reached the intersection with County Road 102, two men stopped him in the roadway and forced their way into his vehicle, according to a Police Department news release.
The victim said the two men were wearing dark clothing, gloves and ski masks. He believed one of the men was armed with some type of gun, although he did not see a weapon.
The men reportedly ordered the victim to drive into Sacramento and later to West Sacramento, where they ordered him to stop. The victim told police that the men got out of the car and walked toward a neighborhood. The victim then drove to his Sacramento home and called police.
In addition to being taken against his will, the man reported that the kidnappers robbed him of a small amount of money.
The victim was unable to provide much of a description of the men because of the gloves and masks they wore.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Woodland Police Department at (530) 661-7800.
