An FBI task force roundup resulted in the arrest of 17 men today after an investigation into drug and firearms trafficking by suspected gang members.
The Sacramento Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force served arrest and search warrants after a nearly two-year investigation.
"Takedowns such as these demonstrate that the FBI and its task force partners are committed to disrupting violent gang activity," said Herbert M. Brown, special agent in charge of the Sacramento division.
An FBI press release stated that the task force of local, state and federal officers identified drug traffickers with membership or other ties with the Nuestra Familia prison gang.
The operation also seized drugs, cash and vehicles. Included in the seizures were about 12 cars, $35,000 in cash, 30 weapons, 25 pounds of methamphetamine, 40 pounds of marijuana, cocaine, heroin and Oxycontin.
