Woodland police arrest man inside business after break-in

A Woodland man was arrested Wednesday evening after he was found inside a store where a break-in had been reported.

Woodland police responded about 6 p.m. to a report of a commercial burglary in progress at 420 Grand Ave. When officers arrived, they found that someone had smashed out the front window of the business.

After establishing a perimeter around the building, officers located a man inside the business, according to a Police Department news release. He was later identified as 35-year-old Francisco Javier Tapia Jr.

Tapia was arrested without incident on suspicion of burglary. He was booked into Yolo County Jail with bail set at $20,000.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Woodland Police Department at (530) 666-2411, or (530) 661-7800. Callers can remain anonymous.
