El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies on Monday arrested the 33-year-old man suspected in the Thanksgiving-eve murder at Red Hawk Casino.
After getting a tip on Juarez Estephen's location, deputies first set up surveillance on Cothrin Ranch Road and then took him into custody at around 10 p.m. Monday, authorities said.
Estephen, who was previously called a person of interest in the Nov. 21 stabbing death, surrendered peacefully, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff's department.
The victim in the incident was Gene McArn, 19, of Placerville.
Prior to Estephen's surrender, an aggressive dog was shot and killed after it left the house and attacked a department K-9, said Sgt. Phil Chovanec.
Estephen was booked into El Dorado County jail where he awaits arraignment.
