QUESTION: What was the outcome of the trial of the other four defendants in the killing of the gentleman at the motel on Auburn Boulevard in 2009 or 2010? Did anyone else get convictions?
Submitted by: Motown, Sacramento

ANSWER: The trial date for four defendants in the May 2010 shooting death of 29-year-old Marcel Hatch has been postponed several times.

According to Sacramento Superior Court online records, the murder trial for Demetrius Mays, Kenyatta Mays, Brandy Mays and Lorenzo Mays is now scheduled to begin Jan. 22.

Charles Antonio Williams was convicted of murdering Hatch and was sentenced in May 2011 to 50 years to life in prison.

Prosecutors said Williams and Hatch worked as pimps out of the motel. Jurors found that Williams shot Hatch with an AK-47 following a dispute. Hatch died two days after he was shot. According to stories in The Bee, the four defendants awaiting trial were allegedly passengers in Williams' vehicle at the time of the shooting.
