ANSWER: DeVarr Williams died in February 1994, a week after he was shot as he stood outside a liquor store in the Lincoln Village area.
Little information was available regarding the shooting. According to a story in The Bee, Williams was standing outside the Liquor Loft about 9:30 p.m. Jan. 28 when he was shot by one of three people driving past the store. He was assisted by residents, who took him to a nearby apartment until paramedics arrived.
The bullet entered under his arm and traveled to his chest. He died of complications from the wound.
