A second person has died in a crash into a sound wall at a high speed near Antelope Road.
The Sacramento County Coroner's office said that Walter Portillo, 37, of Sacramento died Saturday. He was the driver of a car that was traveling southbound on Don Julio Boulevard north of Cherbourg Drive Nov. 24 at 3:30 a.m. when his vehicle went out of control.
The California Highway Patrol said the Toyota Scion spun and crossed the northbound lanes before striking a brick sound wall. The force of the crash killed a front-seat passenger, Samvel Bagdikyan, 33, of North Highlands.
Bagdikyan was pronounced dead the morning of the crash. Portillo, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center with major head trauma.
He was pronounced dead at 7:16 p.m. Saturday.
