Coroner identifies PG&E worker who died in West Sac crash

The Yolo County Coroner's office has released the name of the Pacific Gas & Electric employee who died when his truck slammed into a traffic signal pole in West Sacramento on Friday.

He was identified as Tommy Gene Flippo, Jr., 57, of Woodland.

Police officers responded to the crash about 2 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Lake Washington and Jefferson boulevards. Flippo died at the scene.

West Sacramento police investigated the incident, which occurred as a rainstorm was moving through the area. Police say it is possible that weather was a factor in the crash.
