DUI crackdown results in 20 arrests throughout Sacramento

Local law enforcement officials arrested 20 drivers Friday on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Those arrests were made throughout Sacramento County between 12:01 a.m. Friday and midnight, according to a news release issued by the Folsom Police Department. The arrests were part of special Avoid the 16 DUI crackdowns and routine traffic stops.

Last year, 18 DUI arrests were made during the same time period.

DUI checkpoints are scheduled for tonight in Sacramento, Lodi and east Sacramento. CHP officers are also planning DUI crackdowns through the New Year's holiday.
