Four Sacramento-area men were recently charged in federal indictments with receiving or sharing child pornography.
James Capalbo, 61, of Davis was charged with receipt of child pornography. The Nov. 29 indictment alleges that between March 28 and April 26, 2011, Capalbo knowingly received visual depictions of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct, according to a federal Department of Justice news release.
The case resulted from an investigation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
In a second case, Derrick Jason Pair, 28, of Marysville, was charged with receiving child pornography. The indictment alleges that on June 2, Pair knowingly received images of child pornography through the Internet. Evidence found during the investigation suggests that there was inappropriate contact between Pair and one or more minors, according to the news release.
Authorities ask anyone with information or questions regarding Pair's case to call Detective Corporal Kevin Conde at the Marysville Police Department, (530) 749-3930. This case resulted from an investigation by the Sacramento Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Marysville Police Department.
In two other cases, Keith Richard Hill, 33, of Sacramento and Gerald J. Ratulowski, 67, of Antelope were charged with receiving child pornography.
These cases were brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child exploitation and abuse.
