Man convicted in Sacramento court of long list of sex assaults

A man was convicted in Sacramento Superior Court of a long list of sex charges, including lewd acts on a minor.

Dion Dametrice Tolliver, 36, was convicted Tuesday, by a jury of rape, sodomy, performing a sex act on an unconscious victim, sex assault and committing a lewd act on a child under the age of 14 and performing a sex act on a child under the age of 10.

Tolliver assaulted five victims from 1998 to 2009, according to a press release from the Sacramento County Office of the District Attorney. At the time of the offenses, the young people he assaulted ranged from 7 to 16 years old.

"It has been my privilege to get to know and work with the courageous young victims that were sexually abused," said Deputy District Attorney Jeff Harry. "They can close this chapter of their lives and continue to heal knowing that the defendant will never again harm them or anyone else."

Sentencing is set for Jan. 11.
