Photographer accused of secretly videotaping teenage girl

buchanan_ronald_roy_jr.jpegRoseville police have arrested a local photographer and youth volleyball coach on suspicion of secretly videotaping an underage girl in the bathroom while she was getting ready for a photo shoot.

Ronald Roy Buchanan Jr. (pictured), 30, was arrested Thursday following an investigation that began in late November, after a teenage girl and her parent reported concerns about inappropriate comments and secret videotaping during a photography session, according to a Police Department news release. The photographer was also the girl's former club volleyball coach.

Buchanan was arrested on suspicion of possessing obscene matter involving a person under the age of 18. He is being held in Placer County Jail on $250,000 bail.

Based on the investigation, detectives believe there may be additional, yet-unidentified female photography clients who were secretly videotaped, without their knowledge or consent, while they were changing clothes.

Anyone who has information that could assist in the case is asked to call Roseville police detectives at (916) 774-5070.
