The Citrus Heights Police Department seeks help identifying a man who has been seen twice on a school campus in the past couple of weeks.
Officers responded to Citrus Heights Elementary School, 7085 Auburn Blvd., on Friday regarding a report of a suspicious subject on campus.
The man was discovered inside a classroom while students were in the library. When questioned by a teacher, he said he was waiting for his wife to park the car, according to a Police Department news release. He then left the campus, and officers were unable to locate him.
Police said school staff members did not recognize him as a parent of students at the school.
During the investigation, police learned that the same man had been seen on campus in the late afternoon of Dec. 12.
No criminal acts have occurred, but investigators are trying to identify the man and determine why he was at the school.
The school's video surveillance cameras captured photos of the man. He is described as white, about 40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a shaved or bald head. He was wearing a black coat and blue jeans, and was reported to have distinctive tattoos.
Anyone with information about the man's identity is asked to call the Citrus Heights Police Department at (916) 727-5500.
