Second hit over head by robber near Woodland park

Another person has been knocked over the head by a robber near Woodland's Freeman Park.

The latest assault occurred at about 12:20 a.m. Wednesday when a 46-year-old Knights Landing man was walking near the park at 1001 Main St. The man, approached by three attackers, was hit over the head with an object, possibly a bottle.

He lost his wallet in the assault. It was later recovered, minus cash.

Woodland police said that a similar robbery occurred in the area near Third Street and Lincoln Avenue on Nov. 18. In that incident, a man was also hit over the head in an attempted robbery.
