Serna-Mayorga makes court appearance in credit card case

RP SERNA MAYORGA IN COURT.JPGLisa Serna-Mayorga made her first court appearance today on charges that she made $19,000 in unauthorized puchases on a city of Sacramento credit card.

Serna-Mayorga, who is free on $50,000 bail, did not enter a plea in her arraignment that lasted less than a minute in front of Sacramento Superior Court Judge Kevin J. McCormick.

The 40-year-old defendant is the daughter of the late former mayor Joe Serna Jr. and the sister of Sacramento County Supervisor Phil Serna.

She was represented today by Sacramento defense attorney Bill Portanova. Deputy District Attorney Michael Blazina will prosecute the case.

McCormick scheduled her next court date for Jan. 30.
