Two street holdups reported in South Sacramento

Two stickups on the street were reported last night in the South Sacramento neighborhood of Parkway.

In the first holdup, a woman was walking past the post office on Brookfield Drive near Franklin Boulevard about 6:30 p.m. when she was approached by a man with a gun. The robber demanded her purse and then fled.

About an hour later in the same area, a robber approached his intended victim in the 7500 block of Franklin Boulevard and demanded his cell phone and backpack. When the man refused to turn over his possessions, the robber threatened him with a handgun.

The suspect then fled with the victim's personal possessions.

In both instances, the robber was described as a black man of medium build, wearing a sweatshirt and a mask of some kind covering his face.
