QUESTION: In the winter of 2005-06, an 11-month-old boy named Alan was beaten to death at Vince's Motel on Folsom Boulevard. Both parents were arrested. Were either one of them convicted?

ANSWER: A Sacramento County jury convicted Robbie Woodson of murder in the April 2005 death of his 11-month-old son, Allan Woodson.
According to stories in The Bee, Robbie Woodson told sheriff's deputies that he was about to give Allan a bath when his son went limp and became unresponsive. An autopsy revealed that the child had sustained massive internal injuries, and sheriff's officials said the wounds that killed him were suffered the day he died.
Woodson also was convicted of spousal abuse for beating his girlfriend Treana Wilt, Allan's mother.
Wilt, too, was arrested and found guilty of misdemeanor child endangerment for failing to seek medical help for her son after Woodson gave the boy a black eye before beating him to death.
According to Sacramento Superior Court online records, Wilt was sentenced to four months in a sheriff's work project.
Woodson, now 29, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison and is in Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad.
