QUESTION: What is the legal standing of the Citrus Heights private school principal? It's been quite a while since he was charged, and I haven't seen any information lately.

ANSWER: A preliminary hearing for Robert Benson Adams, former principal of Creative Frontiers school in Citrus Heights, has been continued several times.

It currently is scheduled for Feb. 22, according to Sacramento Superior Court online records.

Adams, 61, was arrested in September 2011. He is charged with six felony counts of lewd and lascivious behavior with a child younger than 14 and a misdemeanor count of annoying or molesting a child younger than 18 years old.

Adams has pleaded not guilty and is free on bail.
