Auburn police investigate death of woman found in tent

Auburn police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a tent in an area frequented by homeless people.

Officers responded at 12:51 p.m. today to the 300 block of Auburn Ravine Road to an area commonly referred to as the West America Bank Trail, regarding a report of a deceased person in a tent. There they found the body of an unidentified woman, who appeared to be in her 40s, according to a Police Department news release.

Officials said the tent was in an area where transients are known to camp.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Auburn Police Department at (530) 823-4237.
