CHP officer crashes off I-5 near Del Paso Road

CHPaccident2.jpgA Woodland CHP officercrashed in Natomas while driving southbound on I-5 last night.

For unknown reasons the officer lost control of his vehicle, hit a drainage ditch north of Del Paso Road and rolled multiple times around 8:30 p.m., Officer Lizz Dutton said.

The car came to rest on its roof and caught on fire, Dutton said.

The officer, who was responding to an emergency in Davis, called dispatchers to say he was ok, Dutton said.

The officer went to UC Davis Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, Dutton said.
