Coroner IDs man found fatally shot outside McDonald's in Citrus Heights

The man fatally shot in a car parked outside a McDonald's in Citrus Heights on Friday night has been identified as 28-year-old Baron Seidel.

About 6 p.m., police responded to the 7800 block of Lichen Drive after reports of a shooting. There, they found a man, now identified as Seidel, inside a parked vehicle with a gunshot wound.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Citrus Heights police said detectives believed the victim and the two suspects, who have not been identified, knew each other, and described the homicide as an "isolated incident." According to police, the suspects were described as light-skinned black or Hispanic men who fled in a dark colored sedan toward Antelope Road.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Citrus Heights police at (916) 727-5500.
