Two men arrested for reportedly firing shotgun in the air in Woodland

Two men were arrested early this morning in Woodland after police received numerous calls reporting shots fired in the air.

Woodland police arrested Jed Tranquilino Flores Torres, 32, of Woodland, and Cesar Carabez, 31, of Sacramento, after locating numerous spent shotgun shell casings near the men in the front yard in the 400 block of Elizabeth Way in Woodland.

No injuries were reported in the 2:30 a.m. incident.

A shotgun was located in the cargo space of a sport-utility vehicle belonging to one of the men.

Torres was arrested on suspicion of reckless discharge of a firearm and being a previously convicted felon possessing a firearm. Both are felony crimes. Carabez was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony. Both men were booked at Yolo County Jail.

Anyone with additional information about the incident is asked to call the Woodland Police Department at (530) 666-2411.
