One man reported dead in Citrus Heights shooting

One man is dead following a shooting this evening in Citrus Heights.

Police spokesman Officer Bryan Fritsch said officers responded at 6 p.m. to a report of an assault with a firearm in the 7800 block of Lichen Drive, near Antelope Road. When they arrived, they found a man dead inside a vehicle in a McDonalds parking lot.

Fristch said investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that the parties involved may have known each other.

The assailants were described as two men who left the area in a dark-colored sedan.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call the Citrus Heights Police Department at (916) 727-5500.
