Parolee convicted of attempting to murder, rob homeowners

A Sacramento County jury has convicted a 22-year-old parolee of multiple charges, including attempted murder, attempted robbery and use of a gun.

On June 16, 2011, Lawrence Jackio and an accomplice broke into an occupied residence and attempted to rob two homeowners at gunpoint, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney's Office news release. One victim was pistol whipped, and Jackio shot the other in the stomach, causing serious injuries.

At the time, Jackio was on parole for a residential burglary conviction.

He is to be sentenced March 1 by Sacramento Superior Court Judge Michael Savage.
