Placer teacher suspected of sex with former student

woods jennifer lynn.JPGA Placer County teacher has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a former student.

Jennifer Lynn Woods, 35, (pictured) was booked a week ago into jail on suspicion of having sex with a minor. The 17-year-old boy she allegedly had sex with was her former student.

An employee with the Placer County Office of Education contacted the sheriff's office when education officials received information that Woods was suspected of having an inappropriate relationship with a former student.

Woods, a Granite Bay resident, is listed on the Placer County Office of Education website as being an employee in the Emotionally Disturbed Program.

The sheriff's department said in a press release that Woods met the boy when he was her student two years ago. He has since transferred to another school.

The relationship lasted for one year, according to deputies, while the boy was 16 or 17 years old.
