Sacramento police investigating fatal shooting in Oak Park

Oak Park.jpgSacramento police are investigating the fatal shooting of a person in Oak Park this afternoon.

The shooting was reported about 12:45 p.m. in the 3100 block of 39th Street, just south of Broadway. The victim was transported to the UC Davis Medical Center and then pronounced dead.

Officer Doug Morse said the victim is in his late teens or early 20s. He was shot multiple times. Police are unsure whether multiple gunmen were involved in the shooting.

According to police radio traffic, police were looking for a white Chevy minivan believed to have been involved in the shooting. The minivan was reported to have fled southbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and then westbound on 9th Avenue.
