Second suspect booked in death of Rosemont motorist

Rodolfo Villa.JPGAnother man has been arrested in the shooting death of a motorist last week in Rosemont.

Rodolfo Villa, 22, (photo) was taken into custody on Wednesday and booked into jail on suspicion of homicide.

Earlier this week, Michael Almeda, 19, was arrested for the same crime. He also has been booked into Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of homicide.

On Jan. 17, Alexander Brian Chavez, 21, was found unresponsive in the driver's seat of a Chevrolet Suburban by Sacramento County sheriff's deputies who responded to reports of shots fired.

His sport utility vehicle was stopped in the middle of the roadway, facing northbound on Westporter Drive at Lilibet Avenue. A female passenger inside the SUV at the time of the shooting was uninjured.

Chavez died at the scene. The initial investigation revealed that another vehicle was seen speeding from the scene just after shots were fired.
