Traffic stop on Highway 99 leads to drug arrests

Gaspar Roberto Garcia.JPGSacramento police said a traffic stop turned into a narcotics bust last night on Highway 99.

Officers saw a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 99 near Mack Road about 11 p.m. and began to pull it over for a possible traffic violation. As the vehicle was coming to a stop, somebody inside threw an item out the window, according to a police crime summary.

Jason Anthony Breen.JPGThe object came to rest on the shoulder of the road. Police said they later recovered the object, which was identified as narcotics.

Gaspar Roberto Garcia, 38, was booked on suspicion of possession of narcotics and non-narcotics. Jason Anthony Breen, 35, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a dangerous drug.
