A report from an alert neighbor led to the arrest of two men accused of attempting to burglarize a Woodland home this morning.
Police officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Howard Drive at 10:34 a.m. regarding suspicious circumstances. A neighbor reported that two men ran from the back yard of a residence after trying to break into the home.
Officers stopped a vehicle spotted leaving the area and contacted the occupants, Surjit Singh, 21, and Israel Rodriguez, 20, both of Woodland. The two men had allegedly smashed a rear window of the residence and run from the back yard, according to a Police Department news release.
Police said Singh was on post-release community supervision under the state's prison realignment. He was booked into Yolo County Jail on suspicion of attempted burglary and violation of the terms of his post-release community supervision. Rodriguez was booked on suspicion of attempted burglary and violation of probation.
