Vehicle stop turns into drug arrest in Auburn

upchurch.jpgAuburn police said that a traffic stop last night for an alleged vehicle equipment violation turned into a drug bust.

About 11:30 p.m. an officer pulled over Joseph Upchurch, 21, and developed probable cause to search his vehicle, according to an Auburn police press release. During the search, the illegal drug Ecstasy was found, in addition to edible marijuana and prescription narcotics for which Upchurch did not have a prescription, police said.

Upchurch was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances.
