Officers responded to the 6300 block of Stonehand Avenue about 6:28 a.m. regarding medical aid for an individual who had been struck with an unknown object. They found the victim unconscious outside of his residence. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced.
Police said the victim -- identified by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office as Jack Swaim, 52 -- had been stabbed multiple times.
