ANSWER: Sacramento Superior Court online records show that there is still an active complaint charging Andrey Vusik with involuntary manslaughter and a hate crime in the death of Satender Singh in July 2007.
Vusik is the man suspected of throwing the fatal punch in a confrontation between two groups at Lake Natoma.
According to stories in The Bee, Singh, 22, was among a group of people drinking and dancing to Indian music by the lake. He was the only one without a date and was seen hugging and dancing with other men, witnesses said.
Vusik and Aleksandr Shevchenko were with a group of people who allegedly aimed racial and homophobic slurs at Singh's group.
Singh was punched more than three hours after the confrontation began, authorities said. He died four days later.
Vusik fled the country.
Shevchenko was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts, of disturbing the peace and throwing a bottle, but the jury deadlocked on the hate crime charge. He was sentenced to 150 days in jail.
