ANSWER: Two men were sentenced to prison for the shooting death of 24-year-old Serge Zubenko.
According to Sacramento Superior Court online records, Jeffrey Deane Walker was convicted by a jury of first-degree murder and sentenced to life without possibility of parole.
Raymond Edward Walker pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
According to stories in The Bee, the two men and some friends had been involved in a fight with some people at a park in Antelope before they encountered Zubenko. Ward, a Sacramento gang member, killed Zubenko with a blast from a shotgun.
In sentencing Ward, the judge described Zubenko as a "good man" and an innocent victim.
Ward, 26, is at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano, and Walker, 25, is at Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad.
