QUESTION: What is the current status of the criminal case against Ronald Buchanan Jr., the volleyball coach and photographer accused of videotaping teenage girls?
Submitted by: Concerned, Sacramento
ANSWER: Ronald Roy Buchanan Jr. is awaiting trial in Placer Superior Court.
According to online court records, his next court date, for a status conference, is March 27.
Roseville police arrested Buchanan, 30, a local photographer and youth volleyball coach, in December after he was accused of videotaping an underage girl in the bathroom while she was getting ready for a photo shoot. The arrest followed an investigation that began in late November after a teenage girl and her parent reported concerns about inappropriate comments and secret videotaping during a photography session, according to police. The photographer was also the girl's former volleyball coach.
Buchanan was arrested on suspicion of possessing obscene matter involving a person under the age of 18.
