Burglar steals money from mosque in Davis

islamic.jpgThe Islamic Center of Davis was broken into on Tuesday with the burglar making off with money from donation boxes.

Police said a man entered the mosque, 539 Russell Blvd., about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday through an unlocked window and took the money from the donation boxes. At one point, the burglar is seen on video leaving the mosque and then parking a white four-door sedan on the west side of the house of worship.

The suspect then re-entered the mosque and before finally exiting and driving away in the white car.

Davis police described the man as white or Hispanic, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 165 pounds.

He was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a light-colored zip-up sweatshirt, blue jeans and he carried a black backpack.
