Detective work leads to Auburn robbery arrest

The search of a Grass Valley home led to the arrest of a man for an Auburn convenience store stick-up.

Auburn police said a masked man armed with a gun held up the Auburn Gas & Food, 1110 High St., about 7 p.m. Feb. 7. The robber escaped with cash.

During an investigation following the robbery, Detective Dave Neher was able to identify a possible suspect and recover a firearm believed to have been used in the crime.

As a result of his investigation, Neher developed probable cause for a search warrant of a home in the 1400 block of Segsworth Way in Grass Valley. A search of the home on Tuesday turned up "items associated with the robbery," according to an Auburn police press release.

Jeremiah Navratil, 24, was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and committing a felony while out on bail.
