A woman shot a dog and a suspected parole violater was found in a chicken coop Tuesday in separate incidents on Belden Street.
In the first call to Sacramento police, they responded to the 2900 block of Belden Street in the Hagginwood neighborhood about 9 a.m. where a woman shot a large dog that had gotten into her back yard. Police said they were told that the dog confronted the resident and she shot the dog "multiple times," according to the police activity log.
The dog died from his wounds, police said.
Then, about 3 p.m., police were called to help state parole agents with finding a man wanted for violation of parole in the 3900 block of Belden Street in Del Paso Heights. A police dog was used when the parolee refused to surrender from a hiding place in a chicken coop.
He was booked into jail after being treated for minor injuries.
