Grass Valley man arrested in Auburn armed robbery

A Grass Valley man was arrested today in connection with the armed robbery of an Auburn gas station and market earlier this month.

Auburn Gas & Food at 1110 High St. was robbed Feb. 7 by man wearing a mask who brandished a gun at a clerk and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Through an investigation, Detective Dave Neher was able to identify a possible suspect and recover the firearm used during the robbery, according to an Auburn Police Department news release.

About 2:15 p.m. today, investigators from the Auburn and Grass Valley police departments served a search warrant at the suspect's residence in the 1400 block of Segsworth Way in Grass Valley. Items associated with the robbery were seized during the search, police said.

The suspect, 24-year-old Jeremiah Navratil, was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into Placer County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery and committing a felony while out on bail, officials said.
