Placer County sheriff's detectives have arrested two Loomis teenagers suspected of burglarizing the Stone Tree Liquor and Deli early Sunday.
The boys, ages 15 and 17, are accused of breaking into the liquor store on Taylor Road at 1:40 a.m. The intruders were captured on videotape breaking the glass front doors, then entering the store and taking cigarettes and alcohol. A deputy who spoke with the boys in the area of the store earlier that evening recognized them in the video, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.
Detectives followed up on leads and arrested the youths, who were booked into Placer County Juvenile Hall in Auburn.
Investigators are still looking for individuals who broke into the Stone Tree Liquor and Deli on Jan. 26 and stole the store's safe, officials said. Video of that break-in can be found on the sheriff's Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/PlacerSheriff. Anyone with information regarding the suspects or the burglary is asked to call Detective Ryan West at (916) 652-2423.
