Four Fresno County residents were arrested in Citrus Heights early this morning after police received reports of several people removing property from a local business.
Officers responded to the 7200 block of Auburn Boulevard about 4:45 a.m. As they arrived at the scene, the suspects drove away from the business in what was later determined to be a stolen U-Haul box van, according to a Police Department news release.
Officers tried to make a vehicle stop, but the van sped off and police gave chase. The pursuit ended when the U-Haul driver tried to ram apartment complex security gates on Auburn Oaks Court, police said.
Officers immediately arrested two suspects. With the assistance of the Roseville Police and Placer County Sheriff's departments and the California Highway Patrol, a perimeter was established and two additional suspects were arrested. Police are working identify and locate a fifth suspect.
Arrested were Samantha Padilla (top left photo), 23, Michael Reyes (top right photo), 26, Stacey Brown (bottom left photo), 47, and William Figueroa (bottom right photo), 51. All were arrested and booked in to Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of stolen property. A parole hold also was placed on Figueroa.
Police said all the property stolen from the business was recovered from the U-Haul van.
