sketch rape.JPGAuthorities have released the sketch of an intruder who sexually assaulted an elderly woman last week at her home in southern Sacramento County.

The suspect entered the woman's apartment in the 4900 block of El Paraiso Avenue, near Lemon Hill Avenue and 44th Street, about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. The woman tried to flee, but was overpowered and sexually assaulted.

The assailant then took money and other possessions from the woman before fleeing the apartment.

He is described as a thin, black male, between 17 and 19 years old, about five feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a short-sleeved white t-shirt with black horizontal stripes.

Anyone who knows the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department Sexual Assault Bureau at (916) 874-5070.
