Police pursuit ends in crash of stolen vehicle, report says

Joseph Porraz, 18.jpgThe driver of a stolen vehicle led Sacramento police officers on a brief pursuit Saturday morning, before crashing into another vehicle, according to police reports.

Officers identified a stolen vehicle being driven near Franklin Boulevard and 47th Avenue about 8:35 a.m., when it sped away from them, police said. The stolen vehicle collided with another vehicle at 47th Avenue near Highway 99, injuring both drivers.

The driver of the stolen vehicle got out and tried to run away, but was captured shortly afterward, officials said.

Joseph Porraz, 18, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, evading police and felony hit-and-run. He was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries prior to his arrest.

The driver of the other vehicle was also transported to a hospital with minor injuries, according to police.
