Police in Lincoln have arrested a 17-year-old Lincoln High School student in connection with a bomb threat called into the school Friday, authorities said.
The false report, made around 11:30 a.m. Friday, resulted in the school being evacuated and students being sent home early before it was determined to be a hoax.
The suspect, an Auburn resident, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Auburn with the assistance of the Placer County Probation Department, said Jill Thompson a spokeswoman for the city.
He was booked into Placer County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of making a bomb threat, falsely reporting an emergency and for violating his probation, Thompson said.
The police made quick work of the investigation because as an active threat, they were able to get the records of the phone that made the call without a warrant. That phone led them to another student, who implicated the Auburn teen, police said.
