Update: Sacramento homicide victim was man in his 20s

Sacramento police have no motive for the killing of a young man whose body was found early this morning in the street.

At about 4 a.m., officers were sent to 35th Street and 26th Avenue near Fruitridge Road and Highway 99 where a body was reported in the street. Sacramento Fire Department personnel also responded and declared the man dead at the scene.

The man in his 20s suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. A dark sedan, thought to be connected to the killing, was seen in the area around the time of the shooting, police said.

The man's identity has not been released. Anyone with information is asked to call the dispatch at (916) 264-5471 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357. Tipsters to Crime Alert may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
