Sacramento police seek witnesses to Natomas crash

Sacramento Police Department traffic investigators would like to speak with witnesses to a crash involving a single vehicle this afternoon in the South Natomas area.

Officers responded about 3:27 p.m. to a report a single-vehicle rollover at Grasslands Drive and West El Camino Avenue, east of Interstate 5.

The driver of a black BMW sedan was traveling east on West El Camino Avenue at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and struck multiple objects, according to a Police Department news release. The driver, a man in his early 20s and the only occupant of the vehicle, was transported to UC Davis Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information about the incident is asked to contact the Traffic Investigation Unit by calling the Police Department's dispatch center at (916) 264-5471, or Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357.
