A quick-thinking drugstore manager helped police nab a robber in Sacramento's Pocket neighborhood late Saturday, according to Sacramento police.
A man entered a CVS pharmacy store at 7465 Rush River Dr. about 11:40 p.m., threatened the clerk and demanded the cash register be opened. The clerk told police he didn't see a weapon, but noticed a bulge in the man's waistband. The clerk opened the register and backed away, said Officer Michele Gigante, a police spokesperson.
Meanwhile, the manager returned from his lunch break and when he walked into the store, he saw the suspect interacting with the store clerk. He noticed the clerk's odd behavior and called 911.
The suspect walked around the counter, grabbed a wad of cash from the cash drawer, then fled, Gigante said. The manager was able to stay on the phone and give police information that helped them locate a suspect, and the cash was recovered, she said.
Jordann Coleman, 28, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and violation of probation, police said.
