Sacramento sheriff's detectives arrest suspect in Foothill Farms homicide

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman in Foothill Farms last week.

Sacramento County sheriff's detectives allege Marquon DeAnthony Green-Vasquez is responsible for the death of 30-year-old Deandra Horton. A 31-year-old man standing next to her also was shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries in Friday's violence at the Cambridge Park apartments on Hamilton Street.

Detectives suspect the surviving victim - and not Horton - was the intended target, said sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ramos.

Green-Vasquez also suffered a gunshot wound in the incident, and was identified by detectives after seeking treatment at a Walnut Creek hospital, Ramos said. Detectives are still investigating who shot Green-Vasquez.

He and the surviving victim are both known gang members, and the homicide is being investigated as gang-related, Ramos said.

On Saturday, detectives arrested 29-year-old Shoreem Bryant on suspicion of accessory to murder in connection with the shootings.

Ramos said detectives are investigating whether there are any outstanding suspects.
