Seven injured in Galt drive-by shooting

Seven people were shot and wounded in a hail of bullets in Galt late Saturday night at a family get-together.

Galt police said the shooting may be gang-related. All survived the attack.

Galt police said they responded to an emergency call about a shooting at 10:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Dover Drive. They found seven people shot in the front yard, reports said. The injured people told police they were leaving a family gathering at the home, and were wounded when the occupants of a passing car opened fire.

The seven wounded people were taken to nearby hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. One has already been released, according to police.

Detectives are describing the incident as a drive-by shooting, possibly with gang ties.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Galt police at (209) 366-7000.
