Three suspects robbed a South Lake Tahoe motel late Saturday night, brandishing a handgun and holding a hunting knife at the neck of a clerk before getting away with cash, police said.
An unidentified woman knocked at the locked front lobby door at the Pinewood Lodge, 3818 Lake Tahoe Blvd., about 11:30 p.m. and told the clerk she needed a room, according to police.
When the clerk opened the door, two men wearing ski masks and gloves came into the office. One man allegedly showed a handgun and pushed the clerk behind the counter. The second man reportedly had a large hunting knife and placed it near the clerk's neck.
The female suspect demanded money, while the man with a gun opened the cash drawer and removed an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.
The trio fled the scene in a brown four-door Cadillac headed eastbound toward the casino corridor.
The female suspect was described as a black woman, about 5-foot-4, wearing a gray sweatshirt with a hood. Both male suspects were described as black men, about 6-foot-2, wearing dark clothing. One was armed with a small black semi-automatic handgun and the other with a large hunting-style knife with a black blade.
Anyone with information on the robbery is urged to call South Lake Tahoe Police Department at (530) 542-6100.
