Truckee police announced the arrest of three people in connection with several residential and vehicle burglaries reported during February and early this month.
Officers worked several leads and identified two suspects related to the burglaries, according to a Police Department news release.
On Saturday, officers served search warrants related to these cases at several locations. During one of the searches, they contacted Anthony William Torres (left photo), 19, who had a large amount of crystal methamphetamine and U.S. currency on him at the time, officials said. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and later on suspicion of offenses related to the burglaries and gang affiliation.
On Tuesday, officers located a second suspect in the burglaries, Sergio Sanchez (center photo), 19, in the parking lot of the Henness Flats Apartments. Sanchez allegedly tried to flee by hiding in a vehicle driven by his girlfriend, Sabrina Kantlehner (right photo), 18. Officers detained Kantlehner and found Sanchez in the rear of the vehicle.
Officials said Sanchez had crystal methamphetamine and an air-soft pistol with him in the vehicle. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and attempted burglary.
Kantlehner was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting a known felon by hiding Sanchez during his escape attempt.
